De repente, hemos descubierto que nuestra línea ferroviaria no es lo que era, y lo hemos descubierto de la peor forma posible. De repente, viajar en alta velocidad se ha convertido en un paseo en tren. De repente, 47 personas no podrán volver a montarse en ninguno de ellos.

Hemos tenido unas semanas con bastante tensión con el tema de Groenlandia, aunque al final, parece que se haya llegado a un acuerdo no bélico para solventar este problema. Creo que hay una gran diferencia entre el "America first", y el "America only" que parece ser la obsesión de este dirigente. Aunque con lo que está haciendo en su propio país, ya hasta dudo si no buscará un "Trump only"

We've had a few tense weeks regarding Greenland, although in the end, it seems a non-military agreement has been reached to resolve the issue. I think there's a big difference between "America First" and the "America Only" approach that seems to be this leader's obsession. Although, given what he's doing in his own country, I'm starting to wonder if he's aiming for a "Trump Only" approach.

Pues si, me he jubilado. Después de 44 años trabajando, de los cuales los último 36 en Alcampo, he decidido poner un punto y final a mi ciclo laboral. Durante todos estos años, en la mayoría, he disfrutado de mi trabajo, y los momentos donde no he disfrutado tanto, ya se me han olvidado. Es lo que ocurre cuando te haces mayor, que se te olvidan las cosas.

La verdad es que prefiero quedarme con lo positivo. Dejo un montón de buenos profesionales y amigos con los que he compartido más de media vida, y a algunos de ellos, le seguiré viendo fuera del trabajo.

A todos nos llega la hora (la de jubilarnos), y de pasar a mejor vida (la jubilación), y en mi caso decidí adelantarlo un poco, porque llegó un momento en el que necesitaba dejar el estrés del día a día, los mails a los cuales siempre consideré un arma de destrucción masiva, las llamadas de teléfono a cualquier hora. Era mi trabajo, era el Director de Producción, y cualquier incidencia podía alterar el paso de nuestros clientes, así que había que estar disponible. No me importaba, sabía que mi posición conllevaba esa responsabilidad, pero en un momento dado, noté que necesitaba parar. Para los que me seguís con mis viñetas, deciros que no os vais a librar de mi tan fácilmente. La consultora "Tas' tu bueno punto com" no echa el cierre, pero no se lo digáis a Hacienda.

Yes, I've retired. After 44 years of work, the last 36 of which were at Alcampo, I've decided to bring my working life to a close. For most of these years, I've enjoyed my work, and the times I didn't enjoy it as much are now just a memory. That's what happens when you get older; you forget things. 

The truth is, I prefer to focus on the positive. I'm leaving behind a lot of great colleagues and friends with whom I've shared more than half my life, and I'll continue to see some of them outside of work.

The time comes for everyone (to retire), and for us to move on to a better life (retirement), and in my case, I decided to bring it forward a bit because there came a point when I needed to escape the daily stress, the emails that I always considered a weapon of mass destruction, the phone calls at all hours. It was my job; I was the Production Director, and any incident could disrupt our customers' buyings, so I had to be available. I didn't mind; I knew my position came with that responsibility, but at a certain point, I realized I needed to stop. For those of you who follow my comics, let me tell you, you're not getting rid of me that easily. The consulting firm "Tas' tu bueno punto com" isn't closing down, but don't tell the tax authorities.

Reyes Magos 2026

Con la llegada de los Reyes Magos, damos por finalizadas las Navidades, y arrancamos un nuevo año. De las Navidades ya sólo quedan los recuerdos y los 3 o 4 kilos que de media hemos engordado, según dicen los nutricionistas. Así que es hora de ponerse las pilas, si no queremos llegar a la operación bikini enseñando las lorzas. Buena suerte. y buen año.

With the arrival of the Three Wise Men, we say goodbye to Christmas and start a new year. Feliz Año Nuevo 2026

Feliz Año Nuevo 2026. Ya hemos cambiado de año. Es el momento de pensar en los propósitos para 2026. Esos en los que siempre pensamos, pero que nunca empezamos, y si los empezamos, los abandonamos antes de que llegue febrero. Sea como fuere, hay que intentarlo, porque sin planes, sin ilusiones, sin propósitos, el año se hace muy largo. Felices fiestas a todos.

Felices fiestas. Las Navidades siempre las he dividido en 3 tramos. Por un lado Nochebuena y Navidad, por otro Nochevieja y Año Nuevo, y para finalizar los Reyes. Hoy es 25 de Diciembre, así que estamos en el primer tramo, y espero que estéis disfrutado de estos días. El lunes pasado fue la lotería, así que he aprovechado un dibujo que tenía de hace unos años, esperando que no os haya pasado como al protagonista del mismo.

Merry Christmas! I've always divided Christmas into three parts: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, and finally, Three Kings' Day. Estudiando alemán

Como ya os había comentado en algún otro post, me ha dado por estudiar alemán. Creo que mantener la cabeza activa para que no pare de pensar y aprender es muy importante, y más a ciertas edades. En clase soy el abuelo cebolletas, pero lo asumo y lo disfruto. La ventaja de tener una edad, es que la vergüenza ya la hemos agotado, y disfrutamos el doble.

As I mentioned in another post, I've taken up studying German. I think keeping my mind active so I never stop thinking and learning is very important, especially at a certain age. In class, I'm the old fogey, but I accept it and enjoy it. The advantage of being older is that we've already exhausted our inhibitions, and we enjoy it twice as much.
