Consultando a la IA II
En las conferencias, uno de los temas de los que más oí hablar es de la IA, y de todas las optimizaciones que se están consiguiendo gracias a esta herramienta, que ha venido para quedarse e intentar agilizar procesos y facilitarnos la vida con tareas repetitivas.
Pero todavía quedan profesiones donde la IA no puede ayudarnos, sobre todo en aquellas donde hay que utilizar las manos, más que la cabeza. Siempre puedes preguntar a la IA como cambiar un grifo, pero como no seas un poco manitas, igual inundas la casa, así que tendremos que seguir llamando a los profesionales para que hagan de "IA" y nos faciliten la vida.

Yesterday I was at the Retail Forum, and I had the opportunity to attend several conferences and reconnect with many familiar faces, including former colleagues and suppliers. The event was very well organized, with several simultaneous conference rooms and booths for suppliers and manufacturers.
At the conferences, one of the most frequently discussed topics was AI and all the optimizations being achieved thanks to this technology, which is here to stay and aims to streamline processes and simplify our lives with repetitive tasks.
However, there are still professions where AI can't help us, especially those that require more hands-on skills than brainpower. You can always ask AI how to change a faucet, but unless you're a bit handy, you might flood the house, so we'll have to continue calling on professionals to act as "AI" and make our lives easier.

Consultando a la IA
Esto es sólo el principio, porque si suben los combustibles, suben los transportes, y las mercancías, y la cesta de la compra ... Pero esto son sólo las consecuencias económicas, en el área del conflicto hay pérdidas humanas, que son irreparables.
El humor nos ayuda a sobrellevar estos momentos, aunque la situación no tenga ninguna gracia.

Unfortunately, another war has erupted on the international stage, and like all wars, its consequences will spread across the globe. Gas and gasoline prices are skyrocketing, and no matter how much the would-be Nobel Peace Prize laureate tries to calm the waters, reality is overtaking him, and consequently, all of us.
This is just the beginning, because if fuel prices rise, so do transportation costs, goods, and the cost of groceries... But these are only the economic consequences; in the conflict zone, there are irreparable human losses.
Humor helps us cope with these times, even though the situation is anything but funny.

Homenaje a Fernando Onega
Hoy escuchamos tertulianos gritando, pisándose unos a otros y haciendo espectáculo más que periodismo. Esas tertulias que cuando las oyes, cambias de canal y pones cualquier otra cosa, aunque sea un documental sobre la cría del gamusino en cautividad.

Today I wanted to pay a small tribute to Fernando Onega, who this week passed away, though his voice will remain in the memories of those of us who are a bit older. A journalist with a charismatic voice, he filled the airwaves, and you listened attentively to what he said. He was one of those who were born before the internet, who researched before reporting a story, knew the history, and remained objective.
Today we hear pundits shouting, interrupting each other, and making a spectacle of themselves rather than doing journalism. These are the kinds of talk shows that make you want to change the channel and put on something else, even a documentary about breeding snipes in captivity.
This week we say goodbye to one of the greats. Rest in peace.

De viaje con niños
Aunque parece que va volviendo la normalidad en el transporte ferroviario, todavía quedan muchas cosas por hacer. Los tramos en los que se baja la velocidad son más de los que se va rápido. Los retrasos siguen estando ahí, y la seguridad es algo que nos preocupa a todos, aunque hayan reparado las vías en el tramo del fatal accidente. Hacen falta inversiones para mejorar las líneas, y asegurarnos que podemos ir en tren con seguridad, y en alta velocidad, tal y como se anuncia.

Although rail transport seems to be returning to normal, there is still much to be done. The sections where speeds are reduced are more numerous than those where they are high-speed. Delays persist, and safety remains a concern for everyone, even though the tracks have been repaired at the site of the fatal accident. Investments are needed to improve the lines and ensure that we can travel by train safely and at high speed, as advertised.

De vacaciones
Ya sé que esto es un bulo, y que no se tardan 10 días en ir y volver entre Madrid y Huelva, pero los retrasos debido a incidentes y a reducciones de velocidad en varios tramos, hacen que el viaje sea más largo que una semana sin pan, como decían nuestros abuelos. He leído en las noticias viajes de 11 horas para ir de Madrid a Huelva. Es un caso anecdótico, pero los viajes de 8 horas empiezan a ser normal. Y en cercanías, en Barcelona, llevan muchos días, por no decir muchas semanas, donde ir al trabajo en tren sin incidentes es casi tan difícil como que te toque la primitiva. Es una pena, sobre todo, cuando la culpa no es de nadie, por lo que dicen nuestros queridos gobernantes. Claramente la culpa es de los usuarios que se empeñan en utilizar este medio de transporte.

I know this is a hoax, and that it doesn't take 10 days to travel between Madrid and Huelva and back, but the delays due to incidents and reduced speeds on several sections make the journey feel longer than a week without bread, as our grandparents used to say. I've read on the news about 11-hour journeys from Madrid to Huelva. It's an isolated case, but 8-hour journeys are becoming the norm. And on the commuter rail in Barcelona, for many days, if not weeks, getting to work by train without incident has been almost as difficult as winning the lottery. It's a shame, especially when it's no one's fault, according to our beloved leaders. Clearly, the blame lies with the users who insist on using this mode of transport.
